Moto Adonis is a custom bike workshop located in the Netherlands, known for their sleek and clean designs. They recently took on a BMW R100RS build, which was a stock bike with an aftermarket subframe and a specific request from the customer for to use the color Carbonschwarz metallic 416.

The Moto Adonis team got to work and transformed the bike into a custom machine with a high level of attention to detail. They added gold double striping to the new paintwork, which matched the golden front fork, and fitted a GSXR front fork, upgraded brakes with GSXR calipers, and a set of Moto Master brake discs with a golden center.

Moto Adonis also incorporated a full Motogadget system, including a speedometer and #mo.blaze bar end turn signals. They used high-quality parts such as Renthal bars, Motogadget mirrors, YSS shocks, Biltwell handlebar grips, and Tarozzi foot controls. They installed a Motone fuel cap and a Sp connect phone mount and charger, along with a custom leather seat by Mr. Miller. To top it all off, they made a stainless exhaust with MAD exhaust mufflers and DNA air filters, resulting in a great sounding bike.

The BMW 416 R100RS build is a perfect example of how Moto Adonis puts their touch on custom bikes, making them not only visually appealing but also enjoyable to ride. As Moto Adonis puts it, “We like to build bikes with high-quality parts and a high level of attention to detail, resulting in great-looking and great-riding machines.”

Moto Adonis has been making waves in the custom bike scene for some time now, and this BMW build is just another example of their craftsmanship. If you’re interested in seeing more of their work, check out our previous article on Moto Adonis’ Harley-Davidson Sportster build, where they turned a stock bike into a beautiful cafe racer.

We have become accustomed to the motorcycles that leave the workshop of Unikat. The Warsaw Poland based outfit have their own unique take on a number of different motorcycles. That’s why their motto is: “1-of-1”. As in, there is and will only be 1 model of each of their handcrafted machines. From a business point of view this could be seen as risky. But from an artistic point of view, well, there is no other way.

Luckily for us, the standard is pretty high when it comes to their custom built motorcycles, and the BMW you see here today is no exception. Built on behalf of Bartek Prokopowicz, a Polish movie director and lifelong petrolhead, Grzegorz Korczak decided to do something different this time. What started out as a standard BMW R80 police style motorcycle, has been transformed into a cafe racer styled tracker. What makes this 1978 BMW even more special is the treatment all surface areas were given to get a very distinct look. Take a closer look and you’ll see what we mean. Some parts look a bit rusty, and maybe even a bit rough and dirty. Make no mistake, this was done on purpose, through a series of rigorous processes, to achieve this unique, patina look. As if this BMW was built a long time ago. Very cheeky!

It’s clear that this BMW R80 is meant to look a bit rough and used, but that’s just one part of the story. Underneath the surface, everything was redesigned. Let’s start with the most notable changes, like the rear subframe. Or rather, the lack thereof. We see that on top of the minimalistic subframe a beautifully stitches single seat is resting. It almost looks as if it is floating. Some of the worlds’ smallest LED brake and indicator lights can be found underneath the seat.

To keep a clean look, the battery had to be relocated somewhere less obvious; underneath the bike. A custom battery bracket was fabricated to allow for the relocation. This gives the BMW a clean look. The engine and air intake has been kept stock for a change, and we love that! Everything was done to ensure the 800cc boxer is up to snuff, thanks to a thorough inspection and service. At the front the suspension was upgraded to YSS springs and received a pair of fork gaiters. A set of YSS fully adjustable twin shocks take care of business at the rear.

But there is more! Although the rest of the front looks stock, most isn’t. First there is the Motogadget speedo, that looks a lot smaller than the factory cockpit. A black aluminium handlebar replaced the stock steel unit. The handlebar grips have been wrapped with leather, and at the end of them, a pair of Motogadget bar-end indicators have been mounted. A classic oversize black round headlight adds to the distinguished look. The custom short fenders, the blacked out exhaust headers, and the twin brushed end cans all add to the classiness of this R80. No wonder it took almost a year to complete this project!

In the end, UNIKAT managed to create yet another timeless looking custom motorcycle. It’s hard to imagine that they built another bike simultaneous to this project. And yet, they did just that! Stay tuned for more, here on BikeBrewers.

Humble beginnings
There are BMW boxers, and then there are BMW boxers. The difference? Well, here goes. Ever since BMW introduced their famous boxer twin configuration back in the 1920’s, they kind of had a reputation of being a bit…dull. That was until they started kicking the competition’s butts in the 1981 Paris-Dakar Rally. And just like that, boys and girls, the BMW boxer became a legend. That doesn’t mean that all of their BMW’s motorcycles were “cool”. BMW built their motorcycles really well. They were considered to be the ONLY European motorcycle manufacturer that built genuinely reliable motorcycles in the 20th century. And their bikes handled pretty decently. As a matter of fact, with the exception of the GS models, BMWs were considered to be mostly…ehhh…boring.

High in demand
All of this meant 2 things really: 1. There are a ton of old BMWs still riding around, since they were built to last. 2. Owning a second-hand BMW was something of an acquired taste for most people, well, mostly young people. This lack of desirability made them cheap to buy as a pre-owned vehicle. Enter the mystical realm of cafe racer building. With a doubt, one of the most popular base motorcycles to build a custom machine out of are, hands down, BMW motorcycles. Because of their popularity with builders, the old boxer has become one of the hottest bikes in the scene. Don’t just take our word for it, just make sure to check out all the other BMW bikes we have covered in the past, oh I don’t know, year or so.

The Builder from Dussen
Which brings us to the subject of the matter. The BMW we see in front of us today is the prized possession of Ferry Westerlaken. The 45 year old Dutchman who, until recently, owned Ace-Cafe Racers Parts, and founder/owner of Beemer Boys, which is a private label he created for custom BMW parts, built this BMW from the ground up. Did we forget to mention that he also runs a company that trades classic motorcycles? It’s called Altena Classics, make sure to go check it out. He also has a family with three daughters. We find it incredibly difficult to imagine how and where he finds the time to juggle all of this, truly impressive. It isn’t the first time we covered a bike that was built by Ferry. Who remember this Moto Guzzi?

Barn-find!
It all started with a 1985 BMW R80, which was found in a shed only a couple of hours away from where Ferry lives, covered in a thick layer of dust. It was clear that doing a standard cafe-racer job wouldn’t suffice; Ferry wanted to take things to the next level. Not just because he likes to keep his standards high, but also because the bike needed to showcase all the cool new parts he offers through his private label Beemer Boys. The list of mods is very long, however, the most notable piece of work on this R80 has to be the custom exhaust system. It definitely looks unique, almost menacing.

Where there’s a will…
We asked Ferry what he found most challenging about this build: “There were quite a few challenges. The greatest challenge was finding the time to do things. I have a full time job, two webshops, a motorcycle shop, and a family with 3 awesome daughters. So quite a busy life. In addition, the exhaust system was a thing. I didn’t want something standard, but a system made of segments that would run along the top instead of the bottom. Some of the problems to deal with the exhaust is the heat emission along carburetors, tank, fuel hose from the fuel taps. Oil level checks also had to remain possible, and the exhaust had to follow the lines of the motorcycle. The motorcycle had to be built in a minimalistic way with as little fuss as possible around the clip-ons. The BMW is a widely used motorcycle to build a cafe racer or bobber. Despite the differences, they often look like each other. I like the exhaust the most. The lines are good, the looks of the tubes are great, the segments are mint, and the sound is fantastic. I must admit that it rides better than stock. When the motorcycle was ready, she went on the dyno for optimal tuning. This gave the R80 a little bit more horsepower. The handling has also improved with the right adjustment of the suspension. I wanted something different, and I’m very happy with the result!”

Despite the fact that Ferry is very capable, he couldn’t have done this without the help of Ace13 and Hakky Motorsport.

“There’s something brewing in the State of Denmark”

Our Viking friends from up North are part of a lively custom community. We got to know the protagonist of this story when he recently launched ‘Aarhus Classic Riders’. With over two hundred members from day one they are the second largest community in the worldwide group, only surpassed in number by the original New York Classic Riders.

The 33-year-old Dane got his license when he was in his early twenties and got a bike as soon as he passed the test. There is no record of him riding bikes at an illegal age, but perhaps this has to do with the fact he earns a living as a cop. While getting his experience on Suzuki’s,  he saw a couple of friends riding their ‘bobberized’ Honda VT600’s.

That’s when Casper decided for himself he wanted to start building himself too. Being a young family man he had to be patient as buying a house and supporting his family came first. As soon as finances permitted the Suzuki was replaced for a Honda CX 500 project. The idea being that at a reasonable price he could turn this into a nice café racer.

However, this project is still not finished and will probably be the most expensive one of his builds so far once it is finished. The builder is aiming to be allowed to enter the 2019 Bike Shed. We can’t wait!

With icons such as fellow citizen Relic Motorcycles, Craig Rodsmith, Ziggy Moto and Revival Cycles as his inspirations, our friend set out to work on a BMW R100 with sidecar about a year ago. No small task, as the bike was in very poor cosmetic condition, which was even painfully clear on the pictures of the advertisement.

Putting his doubts aside he drove a few hours South of his dwellings to take a look at the combination. Although the condition was worse than displayed in the pictures, Casper was intrigued, made the deal and took the bike home, hoping he could do the restoration on a minor budget.

Fortunately, the engine only required a minor overhaul. The word ‘fortunately’ is used here as a lot of money was spent on the cosmetic surgery. Asked about specifics Casper responds: “I am way past cheap. This bike has some serious money invested in it hahaha.” Studying the pictures he sent us, we can only say it is money well spent.

Our spanner luckily ran into a wiring wizard at the local “Kaffe og Gammelt Jern” (which is probably the Danish Equivalent of the Amsterdam based “Rusty Gold Motorshop” – also see this article). This lad was happy to help Casper out with some major electrical issues on the BMW and put him on the path of (Dutch-based) EML who have been manufacturing phenomenal side car combinations for over forty years. Quite some inspiration on this build originated from this manufacturer.

With the changes, Casper made the BMW R100 not only has cool looks but according to the shed builder, it rides like a single bike too. Which is no small feat for an upcoming builder.

BikeBrewers have decided to Danish custom community its worth a closer inspection and have put a ride up North on the calendar for 2019. In the meantime, we hope our readers like enjoy the pictures as much as we did writing this article.

BMW R100R Cafe Racer 8

As proud “Dutchmen” it’s always cool to publish a cool story and pictures of a bike that comes from our home ground. And with an ever-growing custom motorcycle scene, the established workshops keep on delivering top-notch work. Regular readers already know that we have some really great pro builders here like Ironwood, Wrench Kings, Wimoto and of course Moto Adonis. All these builders have been featured all over the interwebs with their creations and most of the times we get a heads up first when a bike is finished (thanks for that guys!). Today we have the honor to feature the latest build from Daan Borsje, owner of Moto Adonis; a real “gentleman’s cafe racer” based on a BMW R100R.

The project started as a long-desired wish from one of Daan’s customers to have a real one-off gentlemen’s machine that was stuffed with high-end parts to combine the idea of a classic ride with modern day technology (and comfort). The heart of this customer lied with the Bavarian boxer bikes so R100R was an easy pick. He also was a sucker for laced wheels, which made the search for this bike a bit more difficult; not many R100R’s where sold with these wheels.

BMW R100R Cafe Racer 10

To upgrade the bike’s handling, they’ve ditched the original front fork and replaced it with a Suzuki S-RAD USD fork. The fork was refurbished and adonized in black so everything works and looks brand new. For the triple tree, they’ve asked Roel Scheffers of Scheffers Engineering. Daan: “Roel is a good guy who is, of course, Dutch and lives in the bush bush of Norway, and he made us a beautiful plate with an integrated Moto Gadget Tiny Speedo in it”. The original 2 piston brake caliper was replaced by a newer 3 piston model by Tokico. The rear shock was custom made by USS Suspension, also adonized black.

To get the desired line, the massive original gas tank was put on sale and they’ve sourced the gas tank of a Honda CM400 and made it fit the bike with and welded on a Monza gas cap. The subframe was modified to fit the custom-made seat which is upholstered by master upholsterer and fellow Dutchie Marcel Miller from Miller Kustom Upholstery. For the exhausts, they’ve used their alter ego MAD-exhausts to deliver a beautiful hand-made, stainless steel 2-in-1 exhaust with the muffler right in the center under the seat.

The engine was taken apart and got a refurbishment to ensure reliability since this is no show bike. All the wiring has been replaced and they’ve added a MotoGadget M-unit to make sure it all works for a decade. The front blinkers are also from MotoGadget and in the rear, they’ve used a Rizoma unit with blinkers and the rear light integrated.

To give a little wink to the BMW heritage, the color scheme and paint job a directly inspired by the R90S series. All and all, another exquisite machine from Dutch ground to be a little bit proud of. Well done Daan and we hope the new owner will enjoy it!

BMW R100 Gold (3)I really love digital media. It has made life so much easier in many ways. Yes, I am aware of all its downsides too, but let’s stay on the positive side. Finding inspiring builds and creative builders has never been so simple. Just browse Facebook, Twitter, and all other available channels and you will encounter an avalanche of remarkable stuff.

In this particular case, my Instagram path led me to a hamlet slightly North-East of Paris. A beautiful area where the hero of this story shares the streets with 165 other villagers. The French are well known for their good taste in many things and Vincent Degano is no exception to this rule.

BMW R100 Gold (2)

Hard NOT to notice

Is best how you can describe this utterly unique creation. If you feel lonely or deprived of attention, one ride on this BMW R100 will cure all that. It is a daring design which you will probably like or hate. I guess there is not much in between.

In my case, I was fascinated by the motivation to produce a custom bike with such atypical looks. Yes, I like it, but would I have had the balls to chose the copper finish? I guess not. Still, the color scheme does justice to Vincent’s design and what the heck, why not?

BMW R100 Gold (6)

Similar background

Funny, with more than 500 kilometers between us (and a couple of years) our 37-year-old Frenchman grew up with a dad riding BMW’s for work. Just like I did. And both our fathers were policemen who spend most of their professional days on two wheels.

Whereas I drifted away from BMW, Vincent stayed loyal and focused on building BMW scramblers for the last five years. He finds scramblers easier to handle for daily use. That’s why he stuck with them until now.

BMW R100 Gold (5)

Scrambler versus café racer

Our builder was looking for a BMW with sufficient ‘bite’ to turn into a café racer. I am happy he choose the R100 Mystic for rebuilding purposes. This bike was the Bavarian brand’s first attempt at producing a retro styled bike. And how they failed back in the early nineties!

So thank you, Vincent, for taking an ugly duck looking bike off the road and turn it into the beautiful swan it is now! He bought it off a French lady who rode the bike to work for 15 years. I hope she had extremely good looks, sure as hell she was not going to get the attention of a lot of men riding this model.

BMW R100 Gold (8)

Striptease

The framer could not wait to get back to his shed and take the bike fully apart. The fifteen years of daily rides had left their marks on this iron lady, so stripping her bare was the only right thing to do.

The stripping went way beyond cosmetic. Intricate heart surgery was deemed necessary after opening the engine. Maybe not so much because it the machine was in bad condition, but in Vincent’s opinion, the performance would have to match the look he had in mind.

So valves, cylinder lining, the entire electrical circuit were subject to a major overhaul. The airbox was removed and breathing was improved by mounting KN filters. After all the bodily fluids had been exchanged too, the machine was ready to roll. From a mechanic point of view, that is.

BMW R100 Gold (7)

Frontal attack and  cosmetic surgery

As our French builder put it “after I had taken care of the mechanic side of the rebuild, I was ready to attack the aesthetics of the bike”.

And attacking is what he did!

With the looks the factory decided on, Vincent had quite a challenge as he definitely wanted pure café racer looks without any concessions whatsoever.

The skinny front legs were amputated and made room for a replacement donated by a 2010 Triumph Speed Triple. This instantly gave the bike ‘bad’ look. In the Michael Jackson sense of the word of course! It definitely added balance to the design, connecting the heavy drivetrain in the back and sturdy forks with the wheels in between.

Changing the forks also opened the way to mounting two 320 mm Triumph discs and a radial Brembo braking set. This required changing the yoke and clamps. Two aviation standard “Silverperformance’ tubes were installed to enhance braking pressure.

A handmade front fender completed the front side. The same hands made the headlight supports to hang the ‘Bates’ produced lighting. For good measure, a ‘Daytona Velona’ speedometer was tastefully inserted between the forks.

To keep everything under control a set of LSL clip ons are attached to the forks, completed with ‘Biltwell’ grips.

BMW R100 Gold (1)

Why not just modify everything?

The original ‘Mystic’ gas tank was replaced by a 1992 R80 mono-lever version, which was a far better fit with the total design.

The rear of the frame was built up from steel in order to support the seat shell produced by ‘Bikecomposites 61’. This modification made it possible to also house the battery enabling the builder to keep the lines of the bike very, very clean.

Completing the rear section is the seat produced by ‘Krisalide sellerie’, the rear light and miniature blinkers by ‘Motogadget’.

It nearly goes without saying that the frame and all other parts were also given a complete makeover. Special attention was given to the bronze finish, which is a powder coat using actual brass powder to create the unique shine. Glossy black was used for the front fender and the rims.

Clearly, the engine was not only taken good care of on the inside. The outside is shiny and brilliant as if straight from the factory. Guilty of all this fine work was ‘Paint Design’.

‘Megaton’ silencers are mounted to keep the noise under control. But will they? Should they?

Vincent is rightfully proud of the way this bike came out of rehab. When asked he explains: “the R100 is one of my top performances as a creator. I am really proud of what I managed to do with this old lady. Thanks to the completely revised front, the BMW really has s road performance you’d expect of a modern motorcycle. But it has the look of a genuine café racer, with a touch of arrogance in her color palette. For me, it tastes like more!’

Yeah, that’s right: there is no such thing as a BMW R168. But this creation right here deserves its own model number. This piece of art is built by the guys from Kacerwagen from Spain, maybe you remember them from the radical Aprilia RSV1000 Cafe Racer I’ve featured back in April this year.

This “BMW R168” is the result of a commissioned project by one of their customers. “He came in with an old BMW R100RS to modify, but without any clear idea. So I let my mind play with this carte blanche assignment. After a moment of inspiration, I thought about turning this bike into something classy, like the BMW R68”. Considering the fact that these are bikes that come from other planets, that was quite the challenge. The result is simply astonishing… What an amazing machine considering that this was a rather sporty R100RS. It looks just like it just came out the factory back in the early 50s.

So, where to start? Let’s me just sum up some of the features and modifications. At a detailed level, the list is literally endless…

La-Vasca-BMW-Alexandra-Pin-up-la-Rabida-25-2BMW R168

Let me try to put it all in a short description. The frame had to be modified heavily. The part that keeps the engine in place remained original, but the complete rear is completely built from scratch to achieve a real classic setup with straight-up shocks and a hovering seat. The shocks are Hagons’ with a custom housing. The seat is completely custom as clearly inspired by the R68. The rear wheel hub comes from a R1150RT with a custom rim (18″)  and spokes. The rear fender actually comes from an old R68, just like the one in front. They had to be modified to fit the frame.

The front suspension comes from a Honda CBR900 and features double brake disc and steel brake lines and a modern brake pump by Kustom Tech (yes, this bike actually stops when pulling the brake lever!). The hub is also from a R1150RT with a custom rim and spokes. Together with the Firestone Champion Deluxe the bike gets a real vintage look.

Just like the brakes, the bike contains more modern technology: the electronic system is powered by a MotoGadget M-Unit, to keep the wiring clean, simple and reliable. The vintage speedo is also from MotoGadget and is beautifully integrated into the head light, just like vintage BMW’s. The turn signals also come from MotoGadget, which are integrated into the handlebar (MBlaze discs) and the control buttons. That handlebar is also custom made and together with the custom triple tree, the bike yet got another real vintage looking feature.

BMW R168 (2)

If you take a good look at all the details that are covered in this project, the engine could not be left behind. So next to a thorough cleaning and brushing, it got a complete checkup, together with new bearings and seals. The air flows in through a massive single K&N filter with a beautiful chrome cover. ” I did not like the piece of plastic of the original R100, so this piece was built to serve it by equipping it with a filter with chrome-plated covers in the style of classic car carburetors”. The custom exhaust give another dimension to the bike; beautifully chrome pipes with a fish tail.

La-Vasca-BMW-Alexandra-Pin-up-la-Rabida-37

And then that color palette! This really gives it a perfect finish: green moss, silvery white and golden details. Perfect In my opinion! I think it’s impossible to cover all modifications of this extensive project and I believe it’s a bit unnecessary too; builds like this are rare and deserve a special place. I’m glad that I had the possibility to feature this one here on BikeBrewers.

It’s no surprise that this bike got some recognition: Director of Design at BMW Motorrad, Edgar Heinrich, gave Kacerwagen the award for “Best Custom Bike” in the BMW Heritage Custom Project.

I just wish I had a beautiful cruiser like this in my shed…

BMW R100RS Scrambler (3)Back in September, I got in touch with Bolt Motor Co. from Valencia in Spain. They amazed me with this beautiful, redefined version of the Honda CB750. Today they’ve amazed me again with this awesome BMR R100RS Scrambler. The last time I saw a BMW R-series like this, was back in 2016 with this R100 by Vagabund Moto. The keen eye instantly sees that this is a very high-quality, professional and thoughtful build.

It’s not the first time that Bolt took a BMW R100 as a base bike, but according to them, it’s nothing compared to their other builds so far. “Without a doubt, this is the bike on which we’ve spent the most time to go from the old, vintage machine to the modern wonder it is today”. They’ve sourced an original 1977 BMW R100RS (ouch!) and they’ve handled this project more like a prototype than a standard customized cafe racer/ scrambler. “This bike is a real piece of art and a beauty to see. But believe me, in real life it’s 10 times more beautiful!”

BMW R100RS Scrambler (2)

Summarizing all the long hours of work on this machine is a pretty firm task on itself. But the guys at Bolt Motor Co. all agree that the most challenging modification on this BMW R100RS Scrambler is mounting the USD for from a Yamaha R1 with radial brake caliper and larger disc on the original laced wheel of the BMW. Another piece of art which stands out in minimalism is the subframe and rear seat. Unlike many other builds, the seat is really hovering above the rear wheel. To achieve this, they’ve fabricated a hand-built, strengthened frame. To keep the dirt from hitting the engine, they’ve created a subtle fender which fits perfect in the design of this bike.

Details like this are what has made the “#Bolt9” perfectly combine the charm of a classic motorcycle with the technology of today. And this is exactly where the real strength of this transformation lies because although this model is one of the most used base bikes, it is far from what we are used to seeing these days.

With the upgraded front suspension and brakes, the rear got a progressive Hagon shock to upgrade the overall handling of the bike. Of course, they’ve completely rewired the bike and used a Motogadget M-unit as the electronic heart. Minimalistic buttons were mounted and the bike got LED blinkers. To match the design and new high-flow air filters, they’ve placed a set of upswept GP mufflers.

BMW R100 Classic Racer (4)With the ever growing scene of custom motorcycles, I’m proud of everything that’s “Made in Holland”. I keep in close contact with all builders like Arjan from Ironwood Customs, Wido of Wimoto, Daan of Moto Adonis and of course the Wrench Kings. Last weekend I’ve paid a visit to the last one. A friend of mine was looking for a new, one of a kind motorcycle since he knew for sure that building one himself was an impossible challenge. So we hopped in our cage (the weather was pretty damn nasty) and drove up to Bilthoven, in the center of Holland. There we found Joost, the owner and founder of Wrench Kings. We’ve talked for several hours about motorcycles, his shop and his future plans. What Joost accomplished in roughly two years is pretty impressive, and he’s damn serious about his work. But he’s also pretty serious about the future of his company and has some really interesting plans. He also showed me some pictures of his latest projects and I fell in love with this beautiful classic cafe racer based on a 1984 BMW R100RT.

BMW R100 Classic Racer (1)It was a commissioned build for a lady with style, Karin van Kuijk, and she was looking for a real “old school cafe racer”. Since she wanted a real old school bike and no modern classic, the BMW R-series seemed a logical choice. While the R-series are known for their incredibly reliable engines, the bike also got a complete overhaul to ensure that Karin can enjoy their ride to the fullest. Since the new owner was not able to get both feet on the ground on the original R100RT, they’ve customized the frame to get a lowered seating position. This resulted in a unique frame setup with a straight line from the back to the front, something we don’t see that often on BMW R-series. On the original bike, the subframe is substantially higher than the bottom of the gas tanks on these machines but the original lumpy banana-seats cover this up. The custom made mudguard and cool half-fairing fits flawless in the design and the professional paint job (2k) and striping accentuates this perfect setup.

To get the desired old school cafe racer look, some details were needed. So they’ve teamed up with Silver Machine to create some really nice leather details. The bike got a beautiful (and comfortable!) diamond stitched leather with a vintage/used look. The “frame triangle” got a set of leather bags of the same leather, just as the beautifully wrapped grips.

They’ve ditched the original wiring loom and fabricated a completely new one built around the Motogadget M-unit Blue, the latest electronic control unit from Germany. The bike got a set of M-blaze bar-end indicators and Motone buttons on a set of Tarozzi clip ons and a custom triple tree for a clean look in the dash. The ignition lock is removed towards the airbox. Other parts used on this machine are: 7″ Rhino headlight, Acewell 2853 digital speedo, Domino throttle, Brembo PS-16 brake and clutch levers, Melvin steel brake lines, HighsiderBullit taillight and rear indicators, Highsider mirrors (mounted on the original crash bars), M8 licence plate light, Monza gas cap, and Dunlop K70 rubber. To make sure that other road users here Karin coming, they’ve fitted a set of Megaton mufflers.

If you see this bike for real, you might think that’s 100% original and that it came right from the factory like this… Great job by Wrench Kings and I’m sure Karin has the ride of their life on this Bavarian Beauty.

BMW R100RS Silver Bullet 10Delivering one high-quality custom motorcycle nearly every single month requires a lot of things. You need to have the right skills, know the right people and have the right friends. Jose Rosell a.k.a. XTR Pepo has it all, and he keeps delivering awesome rides. This is his last one. It’s based on a 1978 BMW R100RS and its called Silver Bullet. The bike is commissioned by Revival of The Machine magazine, sponsored by Hagon, Zenith watches, Motogadget, BMW Spain, Akrapovic, Pirelli, Rizoma, and K&N.

BMW R100RS Silver Bullet 4

As you may expect from master builder XTR Pepo, every single part has been taken care of. The full list is below the images. Revival of the Machines magazine about the bike:

“The Silver Bullet” is the first bike designed by the Spanish magazine Revival of the Machine with the collaboration of XTR Pepo and the best brands of the industry.
We don´t have a workshop, however, we have designed the bike, made the contacts with brands and we have trust in the famous XTR Pepo to create it with our help in some aspects like the tank, the hubcap and the seat which are all handmade with aluminum and wood.

The bike is a beast. It´s a BMW R100RS 1978 with only the best parts. The Boxer engine has been made more powerful. Lectron High-Performance carburetors and Akrapovic exhausts. Great quality parts by Rizoma and Motogadget. New electronics. R Nine T front parts by BMW Motorrad. Hagon mono shock and Pirelli Tires.

Also the watches Brand Zenith gave us his exclusive Pilot Type 20 Extra Special to make it fit in the gas tank (RM Design) and also turn it into the key thanks to Motogadget´s chip m-lock.
We wanted an elegant bike with enough power to win in dragster racers.

First of all it´s going to be exhibited this weekend in the BikeShed at Tobacco Dock. After that it´s going to be in Wheels and Waves, Motorrad Days Garmisch and Formigal and also our own event in Madrid: Oldies but Goldies, which is going to be this year in Plaza Las Ventas. Later this year Eicma Milan and then Motor Bike Expo Verona.”
