Honda CB4 Concept (2)

Two years ago, Honda showed their Honda CB4 Concept at the EICMA 2015 in Milan. Now, almost two years later, Honda is teasing us with some more pictures of the Honda CB4, which is likely to get its market introduction on the EICMA 2017 next month. With the Honda CB4, Honda will compete for a share of the ever-growing market of retro motorcycles. Or in this case, neo-retro, since it’s a bit retro styled in a futuristic way. Here are some impressions to refresh your mind.

The Honda CB4 is built on the CBR650F platform, but the CB4 gets a completely different look and feel, with, if we must believe Honda, a clear inspiration from Honda motorcycles a couple of decades ago. But if you ask me, it leans more towards a modern-day, lightweight machine with a focus on fun. The only things that remind me of classic Honda’s are the routing of the chrome/polished exhausts to one side and the round headlight.  Looking at the overall setup with a big black USD fork, radially mounted brakes, cased wheels, single-sided swingarm (AWESOME!) and the sharp-edged lining it’s way more futuristic and even has some MV Agusta looking elements.

Though I really like the design and I can’t wait for the EICMA to see it!
