Honda XL250 Scrambler

To be honest: I personally prefer the bigger displacement bikes and I always say that “real” motorcycles begin at 500cc. But that doesn’t say that smaller bikes can be cool and fun too! Last months several small sized bikes got featured here like: a Yamaha RD135 Café Racer, a custom Kawasaki Estrella 250 and a Suzuki GN125 Street Tracker. And what to say about the beautiful Honda 300 TT Racer? Small, but cool!! So I guess size doesn’t matter…!

So having that said time for another small hero: a Honda XL250 Scrambler built by a cooperation between C2R Custom and CTM Motos based in São Paulo, Brazil and designed by Fabbio Wilson.

The base bike is not the most handsome one; the XL250 is “just” a typical off road bike from the old days. The donor is over 34 years old, so a little work to get this lady up and running again was needed and took over 6 months to complete.

Some basic parts like the speedo, headlight, tail light, handlebar, rear shocks, indicators and tires are of the shelve products and the rest of the work (like the paintjob) was done by the builder themselves. Main reason was to keep the costs of this project low.

Most money was spend on rebuilding the engine and carburetor, because reliability was a very important matter: the owner wants to use this bike as a daily drive in the busy city of São Paulo.

Also the cool double exhaust was custom built by one of the partners of the builders. And one of the best parts is the cool custom seat made from real old leather.

It’s a very light and small bike, so not the best pick for large people as you can see in the picture below. But then again: this small fellow is more like an upgraded citybike ;)
